AHPE is committed to supporting the professional growth of health professions educators through structured courses and fellowship programs. These offerings are designed to build capacity, foster innovation, and strengthen leadership in health professions education across India.

The Academy of Health Professions Educators (AHPE) and KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) jointly offer a six‑month Certificate Program in Interprofessional Education (IPE) designed to strengthen India’s capacity for collaborative, team‑based healthcare. The program follows a structured, competency‑based curriculum titled “Advancing Interprofessional Education for India: An Interprofessional Competency Development Curriculum” and is delivered through six sequential modules covering foundations of IPE, curriculum design, facilitation skills, assessment, implementation science, and action research.

The course blends hands‑on synchronous workshops, guided asynchronous learning, and self‑directed tasks, ensuring participants gain practical skills in facilitation, assessment, curriculum design, and implementation. Each module includes live sessions—such as “Workshop: Teamwork & Communication in IPE” —micro‑lectures, case‑based activities, peer review, and reflective practice. Participants also develop an IPE learning activity portfolio and an Action Research proposal, receiving structured feedback and mentorship throughout.

Designed for health professions educators across disciplines, the program emphasises WHO/IPEC-aligned competencies, interprofessional communication, teamwork, and educational leadership. Following the successful first cohort, the second cohort will commence in December, offering another opportunity for faculty to engage in this nationally significant, practice‑oriented IPE capacity‑building initiative.
